WALT:learn from each other and to teach each other .

 Yesterday,Room 8 made earthquake houses. The idea was to make a house that would be able to withstand an  earthquake .

 Firstly,  Room 8 went down to Room 3 . In  Room 3 Room 8,Room 5 and Room 3 did a safety talk with Miss Gormaly . Then we got split into groups of 3 . We had  one Room 8 one Room 3 and one Room 5 student in each group  .

Secondly , I had to go to kapa haka so my group didn't know so well what  I did so they teamed up with some girls and did their plan .

Thirdly,  when  I got back from kapa haka I saw  that they had focused on making it pretty, not to work properly ! So I upgraded  it a little so it would work a little  better to be earthquake proof  so we might win the competition .

Discipline, I will have Discipline by showing up to every practice
Safety, I will not cause harm to others and only practice boxing in a safe environment under the guidance of a coach.
I felt hot and really really happy !

WALT:write a recount on making a chatterbox

Wow, today Room 8  made chatterboxes ! I felt super curious when Ms Bracey tore out about 21 pages from a magazine it felt as if we were going to do some art .

Firstly,we passed the paper around the class and we all took one .Next we folded some of the paper in to a big triangle and we were left with a oblong [rectangle] .We cut the oblong off the paper.

Secondly, room 8 folded it into quarters the we flipped the square upside down and folded that side into quarters .

Finally, we had a chatterbox.  My one looked really cool because all of my corners were creased really well .

WALT: A science  experiment with polymer to write a recount from  the experiment .

Fantastic,magic snow on  the cold morning of Wednesday Room 8 was preparing for a snow experiment in the class . I felt super duper excited to touch fake snow .   

Firstly, The students of Room 8 were split into groups of six and were given a brush,some water,a container and a packet of magic snow  . We  were all nervous because we didn't know what would happen .

Secondly, we opened the packet of magic snow and we saw powder . We tipped the powder in the container and  poured the water in . It started to swell like a itchy bit after you scratch it !

Finally, we learnt that the powder was actually polymer.
Nappies have polymer in them. We made it into snowballs, sandcastles and snowmen.  It was extremely fun experiment !
