Hello from Te Puna Wairua (the best class in Tamaki Primary school !!!). We have a bmx track, and a  playground. In Te Puna Wairua, we are a multi culture, bilingual classroom within the Taamaki Primary community. We a have a really cool kaiako named Whaea Lee, who helps and teaches us speak te reo, by speaking total te reo on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. We also have two kapa haka tutors, that come into our class some days to help out with our school work, their names are Matua Andre and Koka Chanel.

WALT:write a recount on making a chatterbox

Wow, today Room 8  made chatterboxes ! I felt super curious when Ms Bracey tore out about 21 pages from a magazine it felt as if we were going to do some art .

Firstly,we passed the paper around the class and we all took one .Next we folded some of the paper in to a big triangle and we were left with a oblong [rectangle] .We cut the oblong off the paper.

Secondly, room 8 folded it into quarters the we flipped the square upside down and folded that side into quarters .

Finally, we had a chatterbox.  My one looked really cool because all of my corners were creased really well .

 Firstly , Did you know that night  is caused by the rotation of the earth?
The earth has something called an axis .

 Secondly ,  the axis makes the earth rotate .  The Earth not only turns on its axis it all so orbits the sun . The axis of earth  is actually tilting a little bit .


Thirdly
,the earth orbiting the sun is caused by the magnetic field of the Sun .   In addition the Earth takes 365 days to orbit the sun also known as  1 year . 

Lastly,the tilti cause one side of the earth to have day and the other side is night this means that different sides of the earth get  a  different amount of sunlight .

science week 4-walking water

Last week we did a experiment called walking water  .
Firstly Ms Bracey put a quarter of water in four different cups . Than she put three drops of food coloring in them with one in the middle that was empty between of two that was full the colors were blue,red and yellow the primary colors  .Then she put some strips in them that connected to one cup .


 Secondly she asked as to predict what was going to happen to the strips of paper me and my buddy thought that the paper would change colors and fuse with the color that was an empty cup away .

 Thirdly we observed what was happening to the strips  and what was changing to it  then the ball rang two go home so ms Bracey

 Lastly  the next day we saw what had happened to the strips of paper that red and yellow makes orange with yellow an blue makes green .

Kiwi Tamaki was the leader of the people that lived on Mokoai Pa . The mountain that they lived on had lots of fertile soil so other tribes wanted their pa . My challenge was to summarise my ideas .
